GREATER MULLWOOD HOMEOWNER ASSOCIATION
DIRECTOR MEETING MINUTES
JUNE 5, 2014

PRESENT: Officers – Steve Holzer, Joy Gelb, Karmen Brower. Excused – Liat Samouhi
Directors – Emma Wilby, Brett Gever, Rita Gever, Keith Zajic. Excused – Katie Whitman, Jennifer Bercy
Council Member – Lucy Martin

  1. Call to order at 7:20 PM.
  2. Self-introductions done, and minutes deemed approved.
  3. Officer Report
    1. President – Steve Holzer reported that the San Fernando Business Journal had an article about Agoura Hills and Calabasas indicating the communities are somewhat different, but also similar. The business interests are greater in Calabasas which actually has more businesses than Agoura Hills.
    2. Treasurer – Joy Gelb reported our finances, and her reported was accepted without opposition on a motion from Keith Zajic, seconded by Emma Wilby. She also reported that we have 27 paid members at the moment.
    3. Vice President – Liat Samouhi excused due to illness.
    4. Secretary – no report.
  4. City Council Report –Mayor Pro Tem Lucy Martin said that “America in Bloom” judges have been in the city. The city was recognized last year as a “city in bloom.”
    Lucy reported that there are many citizen complaints about the landscape district fees.
    Concerts on the Lake will be starting on the 4th of July.
    *There is nothing new on Wild Walnut Park, but Karmen Brower moved, seconded by Joy Gelb that we put the old survey with the addition of a dog park area and swimming pool on the website so residents can vote their preferences. It passed 5 to 0 with 1 abstention.
    Craftsman Corners is still on track for annexation.
    Agoura Hills has sent an opposition letter to LAFCO about Calabasas’ plans to annex the land and building on Lost Hills. Calabasas has responded to Agoura Hills’ opposition.
  1. Newsletter – According to Joy, we have 3 advertisers still unpaid.
  2. Realtor Report – none
  3. Commission Reports- none as commissions on vacation.
  4. Old Business
    1. Membership – Directors suggested ways to increase membership. These are:
      1. Speakers
      2. Postcard reminders
      3. Additional signage
    2. Dog situation – no report – Katie absent
    3. Park Survey – See 4 above.
  5. New Business – Resident Complaint – Paul Revere resident complained about neighbor’s tree impacting rear common fence. Lucy Martin investigated with city inspectors, and there’s nothing to be done unless the other resident is willing to cooperate with neighbor.
  6. Public Comment – none
  7. Adjournment at 8:40 PM.
